Citi® mtvU™ Platinum Select® Visa® Card for Students Review

The Citi mtvU™ card has been around for quite some time now. This card is geared toward college students who want to take advantage of a card with unique rewards, as well as students who want to be rewarded, when they get good grades.

This credit card is unique when it comes to credit cards, because it is one of the only cards on the market that will reward you for every time you send in your report card. You will find that you can get points for sending in your report card. The higher your grades are, the more you will get in terms of points.

On top of your report card, the card is also going to reward you for paying your card off on tip, as well as not going past your credit limit. This card really does try to help you, when it comes to managing your credit card responsibly.

With the rewards, you can earn up to five points, depending on the purchase that you make. Each category such as restaurants, bookstores and more will depend upon how much you’re going to get in terms of points on your purchase. Once you reach a certain amount of points, you can get a gift card, items and more.

For fees, the card has no annual fees, and you can get an introductory rate when sign up for the card at the beginning. Be sure to read the application terms and conditions when it comes time to knowing what you’re going to be approved for, and what you can take advantage of.

On top of rewards, you’re going to get other benefits that include car rental insurance, travel assistance, as well as discounts at the MTV online store. To take full advantage of the reward program, I would advise that you try to pay in full each month to capitalize on the rewards.

Looking at the pros:

  • This card has some great, unique rewards such as getting points for paying on time, report card GPA grades and more.
  • The additional rewards are some of the best, when it comes to student credit cards on the market.

Look at the cons:

  • Some fees, such as the cash advancement can be a little higher compared to the rest of the industry.
